The Department is currently working at a limited capacity onsite. You can file a complaint and submit applications for licensing online. Filings you do not wish to make, or that are not available, online should be submitted via mail for processing.
Department staff is available to assist with any questions at (800) 922-1594 (toll free in SC) or 803-734-4200 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding State holidays. You can also email general questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The DCA produces a number of reports that examine consumer protection trends. The agency uses this research to perform its mission, including to produce legislative recommendations, determine education and outreach initiatives and provide comments to state and federal agencies.
General Report - A compilation of certain data received from consumer complaints filed with the Department, including top complaint and refunds categories and complaints received by county.
Homeowners Association Reports - A compilation of certain data from complaints involving homeowners associations (HOA) presented in a categorized, filterable and searchable format. The report is published annually on or before January 31st.
Consolidated information from the annual reports filed by credit counseling agencies with the Department.
Mortgage Log - A compilation of certain data received annually from lenders, servicers, and brokers in the mortgage industry
Mortgage Fraud Report - A review of mortgage fraud, its impact in South Carolina and legislative and agency efforts to curb the crime.
Annual report offering insight into the current state of the consumer credit marketplace in South Carolina.
